Grinding

Goonvean Fibres employs a range of modern processing equipment to reduce the size of numerous types of materials including fibres, films and papers. Our equipment ranges from sample machines capable of a few kilograms per hour to large purpose-designed plant capable of processing several tonnes per day. We specialise in milling and grinding a range of materials including fibres, powders and films.

Precision Cutting

We are experts in precision cutting fibres in continuous filament form or tow. Typical cut fibre lengths are between 0.5-20mm, but larger lengths are possible depending on what the customer requests. We process most synthetic and natural fibres including speciality and high cost derivatives, for example, PEEK fibres and carbonised nylon.

Packing / Bagging

We operate modern semi-automatic bagging equipment to pre-weigh bags of fibre, and can arrange packaging in a variety of size / type, weighed in either Kilos / grams or Pounds / ounces to suit customer requirements. The benefit of using pre-packed is enabling customers to precisely load their recipes without the time consuming transfer and weighing stage, improving production efficiency and reducing process waste.

Dyed Fibres

Expanders

Expander blends may include fibre, barium sulphate, carbon black and sodium lignosulphonates, all of which can be blended and pre-weighed to customer specifications.  

Technical Support & Laboratory Facilities

We are able to advise on fibre choice for specific applications and using our extensive on-site laboratory facilities we develop and test a range of materials including composites.
